On September 23, 2008, Regions Financial Corporation announced resolution of a 2005 Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry regarding an institution Regions subsequently acquired, AmSouth Bank and its affiliate AmSouth Asset Management Inc. The announcement of the settlement is contained in the press release that is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and may also be found on Region’s website at www.regions.com.
