Item 8.01 Other Events.
On August 25, 2011, Mine Safety Appliances Company (MSA) entered into a nonbinding letter of intent with a potential purchaser to sell MSAs Paraclete® ballistic vest business. The transaction does not include the companys ballistic helmets business. Terms of the proposed deal are not being disclosed. The transaction is expected to close within 30 to 60 days.
