Larry J. Merlo – Video Transcript

December 3, 2017

This is a very exciting day for us as we announce the next phase of our strategy to become a more fully integrated health care company.

Combining CVS and Aetna brings together the expertise of two great companies. And with Aetna’s analytics and CVS’s human touch, we will remake the consumer health experience and create a health care platform that is build around individuals.

Our CVS stores will become the front door to health care, integrating more closely the work of doctors, pharmacists, other health care professionals and insurers to put the consumer at the center of health care delivery.

The broader use of data and analytics will enable clients of both companies to better manage their health care spend, and the entire health care system will benefit from improved patient health at a substantially lower cost.

So I’m very excited about the opportunity our combined organization will have to help consumers more easily navigate the health care system to achieve their best health…and it will take all of us working together to realize this vision.
