Q:How will the Humana acquisition affect this position if I accept Aetna’s offer?

A:The proposed transaction is not expected to close until the second half of 2016. We review our benefits offerings regularly to ensure they remain competitive and appropriate for our employees. It’s too early to discuss specifics or to predict whether or how any of our current benefits offerings might change after the proposed transaction is completed.

Q:I’m a Humana employee - if I accept this position, will Aetna give me service credit?

 

A:The proposed transaction is not expected to close until the second half of 2016. Until then, it’s business as usual, and both Aetna and Humana will continue to operate and compete as separate companies. Any Humana employees would not become Aetna employees until after the proposed transaction closes. Over the next year, we will be working on integration plans. It’s premature to discuss specifics but, unless you become an Aetna employee as a result of the closing of the proposed acquisition, you will not be eligible for credit for your service with Humana.

 

Q:Can I apply to current open roles at Aetna?

 

A:Yes, you may respond to our general recruitment advertising by applying for open positions. [TO THE RECRUITER: Keep in mind that there is a short list of employees whom Aetna cannot hire even if the candidate responded to a general recruitment advertisement.]

 

Q:Will any preferential treatment be given to qualified Humana employees who apply to Aetna roles?

 

A:We remain committed to hiring the best talent in the industry. Humana employees will not be given preferential treatment in the hiring process.

 

Q:Should I identify myself as a Humana employee when speaking to an Aetna Recruiter?

 

A:If asked by an Aetna Recruiter to identify who your current employer is, you should not hesitate to identify yourself as a Humana employee. We also assume your resume, when you submit it, will accurately reflect the name of your current employer as Humana.

 

Q:If I am already in the process of interviewing for a role at Aetna, will I still be considered?

 

A:In most cases, yes. However, Aetna and Humana have developed a short list of employees whom they have agreed will not be recruited or hired by the other for an agreed upon period of time. If you are on that short list, Aetna may not be able to move forward with the recruitment process.

 

Q:Can I use Aetna’s employee referral process to refer a Humana employee to Aetna?
