     On April 8, 2010, Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. (“Navios”) issued a press release announcing the appointment of George Malanga to its Board of Directors. Mr. Malanga’s appointment is effective on April 12, 2010 and he was appointed to the class of directors whose term is set to expire in 2012. Mr. Malanga is considered an independent director and was appointed as a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Report and is incorporated herein by reference.
