Item 8.01 Other Events.
On February 12, 2009, Celanese Corporation issued a press release announcing that it will shut
down its vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production unit in Cangrejera, Mexico, and cease VAM
production at Cangrejera effective at the end of February 2009.
