WATERSHED PRESS TO HOST CASCADIAN ZEN EVENTS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA





The editors of Cascadian Zen Vol. I will be joined by prominent poets and cultural workers in multiple events throughout British Columbia to discuss the anthology and topics surrounding the work.

SEATTLE, WA, August 17, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seattle-based poetry nonprofit Cascadia Poetics Lab anticipates multiple upcoming events within British Columbia to promote their poetry anthology Cascadian Zen Vol. I, published by Watershed Press. Cascadia Poetics Lab aims to empower people to practice poetry and deepen connections to place, self and the present moment. Cascadian Zen Vol. I is an anthology that features work from distinguished artists and authors throughout the Cascadia bioregion, promoting the organization's mission by exploring the ecosystem of Cascadia, conversations surrounding Zen practice and the many questions that follow these topics.

The first event of this series will be at the Mountain Rain Zen Community in Vancouver, B.C. on August 22 from 7-9 P.M. PDT. This event will feature the three editors of Cascadian Zen Vol. I, Paul Nelson, Adelia MacWilliam and Jason Wirth, along with Canadian poet Daphne Marlatt. The following event will be held at the Abbey Studio in Cumberland, B.C., August 24-25. This will be a full weekend of talks and readings related to Cascadian Zen, featuring Indigenous elder Wedlidi Speck and poet/philosopher Jan Zwicky alongside the Cascadian Zen editors. The final event will be at the Community Hall on Quadra Island, B.C. on August 26, 7-9 P.M. PDT and will feature Jan Zwicky and poet/typographer Robert Bringhurst along with the editors. These events are free and open to the public!

Paul Nelson is a published poet, interviewer and the founder of Cascadia Poetics Lab. Adelia MacWilliam is a published poet and the Founding Editor of Watershed Press. Dr. Jason Wirth is a professor of Philosophy at Seattle University, a published author and Founding Editor of Watershed Press.
