AR Company Anima and Street Artist Demsky Team Up with Polygon to Merge the Metaverse with the Meatspace

The globe-trekking, reality-bending augmented reality NFT project will evolve and increase in rarity through global interactivity.

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 19, 2022 / Anima, the platform for creator-driven augmented reality, and modern street artist Demsky, today launched Mirror - a collection of geotagged, AR NFT art sculptures that evolve and increase in rarity through global interactivity. The collection will be launched exclusively on the Polygon network. Polygon Studios, the gaming and NFT arm of Polygon, has invested in Anima, joining Coinbase Ventures, Not Boring Capital, Flamingo DAO, HashKey, Divergence Ventures, Magic Ventures, among other investors.

Anima collaborated with Demsky, an icon in the graffiti world, to extend the otherworldly quality of his physical works to the digital realm. Mirror, a digital sculpture and a gateway to the metaverse, consists of 8,888 unique AR NFT Mirrors, released with a set of coordinates of different locations worldwide.

When placed at one of the coordinates, the digital AR sculptures activate, dynamically changing their look, sound, and even tokenized metadata. Real-world interactions by the holder of a Mirror NFT both evolve the artwork and directly increase the rarity of the token.

Mirrors are available now for $200 each via Anima's new web marketplace using cryptocurrency or credit card. Collectors can purchase up to 15 NFTs per day.

Alex Herrity, cofounder of Anima, said: "Mirror owners will join a community of explorers, transcending physical and digital boundaries in a blended reality across the real world and the metaverse. Our vision is to inspire and enable creative projects that bridge physical and digital realities, changing and complementing each other in real-time. There is nowhere better than Polygon for our work."

Mirror's ambitious concept and execution reflect Anima's ability to build pioneering, interactive experiences through its augmented reality technology. Anima elected to launch its platform on Polygon because of its developer ecosystem, community, sustainability, interoperability with Ethereum, and low gas fees.

Steven Bryson-Haynes, VP of Business Development, NFT & Gaming at Polygon Studios, said: "Augmented reality is still a relatively unexplored aspect of the NFT metaverse, but we believe it will be one of its most important dimensions in the future. When our advisor and metaverse expert Matthew Ball introduced us to Anima and the team there showcased their vision and the technology they've built, we were immediately excited. It forms part of an intelligent vision for creator-driven augmented reality that we see as a model for how this technology is going to develop and grow."
