Bruce Allen Craig Partners with Center for Child Protection to Support Vulnerable Children

Texas entrepreneur joins efforts through "Dancing with the Stars" charity event and awareness campaign

AUSTIN, TX / ACCESS Newswire / September 12, 2025 / Bruce Allen Craig, CEO and President of Big Easy Entertainment, is partnering with the Center for Child Protection to raise awareness and support for children in need. As part of the organization's annual Dancing with the Stars Austin charity event, Craig recently toured and filmed inside the "kids closet," a space stocked with clothing, shoes, and essentials for children who have survived abuse and trauma.

"Walking into that room was a reminder of why this work matters," Craig said. "Every pair of shoes and every backpack represents a child who deserves safety, dignity, and a future."

Meeting Urgent Needs

The Center for Child Protection is a nationally recognized nonprofit that serves as the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of abuse. Each year, the Center supports over 1,500 children and their families, providing forensic, medical, and therapeutic services. The "kids closet" plays a crucial role by ensuring children in crisis have access to new clothing, toiletries, and comfort items.

According to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, in 2023 alone, there were over 61,000 confirmed victims of child abuse and neglect in Texas. For Craig, these numbers are a call to action.

"Statistics are powerful, but it's the faces of these kids that stay with you," Craig explained. "When a child has been through trauma, something as simple as a clean outfit can help restore a sense of normalcy."

Beyond Business: A Personal Mission

Craig, who has built a career spanning four decades in real estate and entertainment, sees community involvement as part of his responsibility as a leader.

"Success isn't just about your own company," he said. "It's about investing in the people around you. The Center's work proves what's possible when a community comes together to protect its most vulnerable."

A Call to the Community

Craig urges the public to get involved in supporting children and families through direct action:

  • Donate clothing, shoes, and essential supplies to local child advocacy centers.

  • Volunteer time to charities and nonprofits working with children.

  • Raise awareness by sharing resources and encouraging others to get involved.

"You don't need to be a CEO to make a difference," Craig emphasized. "Every volunteer hour and every donation matters. Communities thrive when we all choose to take part."
