Carnegie Learning Announces New Chief Technology Officer and New Member of the Board of Directors

Company continues to grow and expand its commitment to shaping the future of K-12 education

Carnegie Learning, a leader in artificial intelligence for education and formative assessment, announced today that it has appointed Dennis Grinberg as Chief Technology Officer and Justina Nixon-Saintil to its Board of Directors. These organizational changes will position the company to continue driving its mission of shaping the future of learning by delivering groundbreaking solutions to education’s toughest challenges.

Dennis Grinberg joins Carnegie Learning from Eaton Corporation, where he most recently served as Director, Center for Connected Intelligent Solutions, responsible for leading the development of Cloud and Edge platforms leveraged across the company to provide digital solutions to a number of key industries. In this role, Dennis also founded Eaton’s Center of Excellence in Human Centered Design which includes focus areas in user experience design, industrial design and design thinking. Prior to serving as Director, Dennis held a number of other leadership roles in Eaton, including overseeing the development of several key software and firmware products in Eaton’s portfolio.

As Chief Technology Officer, Dennis will help lead the company’s efforts to continually improve and expand its portfolio of adaptive learning technology that is supported by the most rigorous research.

Justina Nixon-Saintil, Board of Directors Member

Carnegie Learning is also proud to welcome Justina Nixon-Saintil, IBM Vice President and Global Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, to its Board of Directors. Justina drives global social responsibility strategy and initiatives that enable IBM’s technology and talent to address and impact, at scale, the most demanding societal and community challenges in both growth and established markets.

In her previous role as director of CSR at Verizon, Justina created and led programs that helped bring innovative resources and experiences to under-resourced students in hundreds of schools. Earlier in her career, Justina was an engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Justina has consistently demonstrated the ethics, aspirations, and commitment to improving lives through education that make her a perfect addition to the Carnegie Learning Board of Directors.

  • Peter Cohen – Prior to his appointment as the eighth president of the University of Phoenix, Peter served as Executive Vice President of McGraw-Hill Education, a leading global learning science company, where he helped the organization roll out multiple new technology offerings. Peter previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Pearson Education’s School division, and Chief Executive Officer of both Sylvan Learning Center and Educate, Inc.
  • Chas Edelstein – Chas serves as President of Crossover Advisory Services, a firm that provides consulting services to educational institutions and other clients. Chas previously served as Co-CEO, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of the Board of Apollo Education Group. Prior to Apollo, Mr. Edelstein was Managing Director of Credit Suisse, a global financial services firm, where he served for over 21 years and founded its investment banking practice in education and business services.
  • John Katzman – John is the Founder and CEO of Noodle, a Certified B CorporationTM that helps dozens of top U.S. universities build and grow their online and hybrid learning programs. John is also the founder of The Princeton Review, the test prep and admissions consulting company, and 2U, an educational technology company that partners with nonprofit colleges and universities to offer online degree programs.
