Charles Schwab Donates Nearly One Million Meals to Those in Need During Its Annual “Season of Giving”

Thousands of employee volunteers pack nutritious meals and support families, nonprofits nationwide ahead of the holidays

To commemorate its annual “Season of Giving,” Charles Schwab employees packed and donated nearly one million meals to families in need across the United States.

Thousands of Charles Schwab employee volunteers across 13 U.S. cities came together to pack nutritious meals that will be distributed to families within their local communities. Charles Schwab Foundation also donated $300,000 to local food banks and nonprofits focused on hunger relief in the communities where Charles Schwab employees live and work.

More than 47 million people, including 1 in 5 children, experience food insecurity each year, according to the USDA's annual Household Food Insecurity in the United States report.

“Food insecurity is a crisis that affects the health, education, and well-being of families and communities. When you have a nutritious meal, it’s so much easier to focus on the things that will help you excel in school, succeed at work, and thrive in life,” said Chris Wyse, head of Corporate Affairs at Charles Schwab and a board member of Charles Schwab Foundation. “At Schwab, one way we help build stronger communities is by working with local food banks and hunger relief organizations to make a meaningful difference for families who need it most.”

During this year’s “Season of Giving,” Charles Schwab employees volunteered more than 6,000 hours to give back to their communities. In addition to meal-packing events, employees hosted in-office drives and volunteer events to maximize outreach and impact. Charles Schwab is committed to supporting local communities year-round, with nearly 10,000 employees volunteering throughout 2024.

To coordinate packaged meal donations, Charles Schwab partnered with Harvest Pack, a humanitarian hunger relief nonprofit.

“One in ten Americans live in a household with food insecurity,” said William McNally, executive director of Harvest Pack. “It’s a pressing issue, but through the support of companies like Charles Schwab that are deeply invested in their local communities, we can help provide families in need with nutritious meals this holiday season.”
