KEVIN McGOVERN (left), former Deloitte New England managing partner, has been elected the new president of the National Association of Corporate Directors New England Chapter. Joining NACDNE's board of directors are GLORIA C. LARSON (top right), former Bentley University president, and AGNES BUNDY SCANLAN (lower right), president of The Cambridge Group.

McGovern succeeds former Boston Federal Reserve Bank president Cathy Minehan, who is becoming co-chair of the chapter with longtime NACDNE chair Beth I.Z. Boland, a senior partner at the law firm Foley & Lardner and vice chair of the firm’s Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) practice.

During his 39-year career at Deloitte, McGovern served clients primarily in the financial services industry, including the top three global investment management firms, many of the largest U.S. banks and insurers, and some of the world's premier private equity firms. He also led Deloitte’s Boston-based Board Ready Women program, which annually prepared 25 female senior executives from the local business community for board service.

NACD New England has also elected two new members to its board of directors:

  • Agnes Bundy Scanlan, CEO of The Cambridge Group, a strategy and risk management advisory firm, a member of the boards of AppFolio, Inc. iCapital, and Truist Financial Corporation, and a prominent author and speaker. She has held senior positions in the banking industry and as regional director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • Gloria Cordes Larson, an attorney and former president of Bentley University, interim executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, and former Massachusetts Secretary of Economic Affairs. She has served on the boards of two public companies, Boston Private and Unum Group, private companies Christie Campus Health and reacHIRE, and previously as an NACDNE director in the 2010s.

“The addition of Kevin, Agnes, and Gloria to NACD New England’s leadership roster is making our organization even stronger. We become better connected to the business community of New England’s largest city. And, importantly, we add to the considerable depth of our board’s experience by adding senior leadership drawn from both public and private companies.” Minehan said.

Added Boland: “We’re so proud and grateful that Kevin has agreed to serve as NACD New England’s president. For nearly four decades, he has been a deeply committed and effective leader in training up board talent, diversifying leadership in the boardroom, and championing excellent governance practices. All of us at NACD New England appreciate Cathy’s years of faithful service, and I am delighted we will continue to work together closely as co-chairs.”
