ZIPS Car Wash is celebrating five upgraded locations with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday, August 20th at ZIPS Car Wash, 106 Moss Grove Blvd. The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce will join ZIPS in unveiling the upgraded site, honoring local military families with academic scholarships, and all customers with a free car wash. Through its ongoing national partnership with Folds of Honor, ZIPS will recognize three local students of military families, each with a $500 academic scholarship at the event.

The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce will join ZIPS outside it's upgraded store front at ZIPS Car Wash, 106 Moss Grove, on Wednesday at 2pm to celebrate ZIPS investment back into its Knoxville locations. A Ribbon Cutting ceremony and free car washes all day at five locations across Knoxville will allow the community to enjoy the upgraded experience at no cost. ZIPS invites the community back to get car line clean during tomorrow's free wash day!

Rebecca Latacz, Chief Marketing Officer at ZIPS Car Wash, announced that interior and exterior upgrades have been completed at five locations in Knoxville, with more locations to be addressed in the coming weeks, improving customer experiences across many ZIPS’ locations in the area. She invited the community to visit and enjoy a free car wash in appreciation of their dedication to ZIPS.
ZIPS is proud to support military and first responder families through site upgrades alongside its national partnership with Folds of Honor. In 2024, ZIPS and its loyal customers donated over $92,000 to Folds of Honor to drive academic success for military and first responder families and the brand believes it will reach a $100,000 donation in 2025.
ZIPS will recognize three local students and their families at the ceremonies this week, including:
- Megan Meece of Corryton, TN, is a Senior at the University of Tennessee majoring in Mathematics. After graduating, Megan plans to continue her education to earn her master’s degree and then her PhD to become a professor.

Karen Meece, Megan’s sister, also of Corryton, TN, is a Senior at Liberty University. She is majoring in Psychology and Military Resilience. Karen hopes to earn her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling in January and continue to serve the military community through volunteerism and as a Licensed Therapist.
- Their father, Christopher Dale Meece, served 20 years in the U.S. Army in Saudi Arabia, in Kuwait as part of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom/Resolute Support/Freedom Sentinel and he was disabled in the line of duty.

Peyton Anaya Henslee of Lenoir City, TN, is a Junior at the University of Tennessee majoring in Nursing. After she graduates, she hopes to become a travel nurse in areas that have the greatest need for nurses.
- Her father, Master Sgt. Ronnie Eugene Henslee, of the U.S. Marine Corp served more than 20 years as an AAV Crewman, Operations & Tactics Instructor, Ground Safety Officer, and Recruiter. He was deployed in Operation Quick Draw/Continue Hope in Somalia; was essential in the Cease Fire Campaign OP Red Reed Southwest Asia; OIF Iraq; and Operation Inherent Resolve. He was disabled in the line of duty.
