While associated with the high-IQ society American Mensa, the Foundation is its own separate entity. Its first Colloquium was held in October 1982, and the purpose of the event remains the same today as it was four decades ago: to offer a forum for individuals interested in exploring, debating, evaluating, and offering judgment on major issues of long-range importance to society.

The Mensa Foundation is committed to creating a community of individuals who share a passion for lifelong learning, curiosity, and making a positive impact in the world. Governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, the Foundation is funded by philanthropic support from people from all walks of life. Learn more at MensaFoundation.org.
