Ivy Hall Streamwood Labor Day Celebration Recap
Friday, August 30th not only marked the start of a long Labor Day Weekend, it also kicked off Ivy Hall Streamwood’s Customer Appreciation Night. The weather forecast called for thunderstorms during the entire event, but the canna gods were on our side because not one raindrop fell! From 4-7pm, 10×10 tents and all the lights attracted people from all walks of life – regulars, new customers, and those just driving by, came to check us out! Members from the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce even came out to support us too and even brought friends along who didn’t consume.
“IT’S TRADITION”
Our friends from the Lou Malnati’s Schaumburg location reprised their role as the main character of the event and provided everyone with hot pizzas ~ free with purchase! They were quite the hot commodity when we first opened Ivy Hall Streamwood back in March and they proved to be again.
Lou Malnati’s mission has been pretty clear since Lou Malnati’s first opened in Lincolnwood in 1971 – great customer service and great deep-dish. They take pride in offering the best customer service and offering the best affordable deep-dish pizza in Chicago (loumalnatis.com/blog/mission). Since Streamwood is a family-oriented community and we’re a community-centric dispensary, it just made sense to bring them back and keep bringing them back, we shall!
“MURDER YOUR THIRST” WITH LIQUID DEATH
You know the common piece of advice to “stay hydrated?” Well, in the cannabis industry, “cotton mouth” is a common effect for some after consumption, which is why we say, ‘stay hydrated, stoners.’ What better way to quench your thirst, than to murder it with a Liquid Death beverage?! Liquid Death was down to partner with us and generously gifted our customers with 7 NEW flavors to pass out for free with purchase.
“It was a nice surprise for everybody and they all loved that we had something new and refreshing,” says Ivy Hall Streamwood General Manager, Manny Slater.
It was the first time we’ve ever brought on a popular brand of this magnitude and it was a huge success! Even though it was the first time they partnered with us, it certainly won’t be the last…
ASCEND TAKEOVER
We don’t often host pop-ups, but when we do, we go all out. Our friends from Ascend Wellness Holdings showed UP for us for this event and brought along brand reps from sub-brands, Ozone, Lowell Farms, and 1906. Ozone brought a fun game for people to play to win free brand swag, Lowell Farms and 1906 also had free brand swag, and people were genuinely interested in the educational aspects of the brand.
Nature’s Grace
I bet you didn’t know that Nature’s Grace Illinois has some of the coolest DJs around. The guys from NGW brought their personal collection of vinyl to spin. They have everything from old-school R&B and hip-hop to 80s pop and rock classic hits, to current beats. They always bring the jams and keep the spirits up and vibes high.
Uncle Stu’s
Masters of the Flame, Uncle Stu’s Smoke and Vape, performed a LIVE glass-blowing demo during the event. Amidst being entranced by the flame and glass making, people entered the free raffle. They raffled off 10 glass pieces that they pre-made specially for this event. The pieces mostly consisted of standard spoon pipes, Sherlock pipes, mini spoon pipes, chillums, etc. The event was over at 7pm, the store closed at 10pm on Friday, and FOUR people came back the next morning to claim them! Let’s just say it was “fire.” Uncle Stu’s has 6 locations across Illinois, catering to smokers and vapers alike, and houses a community of glass artists and their pieces for sale.
