Merck says US looking into its foreign activities

LOS ANGELES, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Merck and Co Inc said in a regulatory filing on Friday that it had received letters from the Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission requesting information about the company's activities in foreign countries.
