Market Update: Macy’s (NYSE:M), Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Merck (NYSE:MRK)

Macy’s (NYSE:M) said that it swung to a fiscal third-quarter profit of $10 million, or 2 cents a share, from a loss of $35 million, or 8 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales in the quarter ended Oct. 30 rose 6.6% to $5.62 billion. Same-store sales climbed 3.9%.
