Mr. Chang will enhance the company’s already strong knowledge management (KM) and enterprise search practice. He brings a deep level of expertise and experience to enterprise search analysis and implementations drawn from his extensive hands-on work with law firm clients and vendor technical teams. He is known for his attention to detail and ability to execute and trouble shoot search implementations. Mr. Chang graduated from the University of Toronto's computer science program in 1999 and started his career in software development. Since then, he has worked with major clients in the financial and legal industries in the US and Canada on projects of increasing complexity and organizational reach.
Mr. Friedmann will lead the development of a consulting offering to assist law firms improve their service delivery – an integrated approach to improving the experience of law firm key clients. Service delivery specifics include legal project management, alternative resourcing, process improvement, alternative fee arrangements (AFA), and KM. In addition, he will contribute to the company’s existing work assisting law firms improve their KM strategies and execution.
Mr. Friedmann, a lawyer by training, is well-known for his innovative approaches to improving law practice and legal business operations. Most recently, he was a senior executive at Integreon, a leading legal outsourcing company, where he advised large US, Canadian, UK, and Australian law firms and corporate law departments on how to improve practice support and business operations while reducing cost. Prior to joining Integreon, Mr. Friedmann founded and operated Prism Legal Consulting, Inc., a firm that assisted law firms and law departments with practice technology and legal market vendors with marketing. Prism Legal now serves as a trusted source for legal market information and is the home of his widely read Strategic Legal Technology blog.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Friedmann was Chief Information Officer at Mintz Levin and practice support manager at Wilmer Cutler (now WilmerHale). He also served as a consultant at Bain & Company and analyst with the economic forecasting firm, Data Resources, Inc. He founded the DC Legal Knowledge Management Group and Law Practice Roundtable and is a Trustee Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management. Mr. Friedmann has JD from New York University School of Law and BA in economics from Oberlin College.
