“Penny Rain” is the first single off Johnny’s upcoming album “Come Alive” to be released in early 2014. Since 2008 John has written many songs inspired by his life of addiction and redemption but none have been as profound as “Penny Rain”, the song inspired by great despair and a story of God’s blessings. The story John had once read was about a very rich man who would pick up pennies, read the inscription “In God We Trust”, and be reminded that all of his blessings were from God. One rainy evening after leaving rehab Johnny found he was homeless with no money and no friends; with his life in chaos he was ready to give up when the sight of a shiny penny caught his eye. Encouraged, the next day John entered Fresh Start Ministries and four years later “Penny Rain” came to life.
