TEXAN LAUNCHES INDIEGOGO TO WATCH MAKE MOVIE WATCHING SOCIAL

MovieOnMe App Makes Movie Watching An Event

Austin, TEXAS, SEP 18, 2014 –   There was a time in the early days of TV and movies when a show wasn’t just an episode, but an event.  Elvis and the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, the first Survivor, the movie Titanic, the movie Gone With the Wind.  So many memories.  Yet with streaming, movies and TV have become more like music.  One listens alone with headphones turning the experience into a solitary activity.  One man from Texas, Brandon Overton, hopes to change all that with a new smartphone app and he’s launched an Indiegogo campaign to cover the costs of app development.

Movie on Me is a smartphone app that takes Social networking and an event scheduler and crams the love of movies and television into it.   allows users to find movies they wish to see and where they are playing and with whom.  Users have the ability to easily create events around their favorite Movies, Television Series or sporting.   Whether it’s Home, a park event, a theater, a bar – anywhere there is a screen is a location where a Movie on Me event can be held.   The beauty of movie on me is unlike other event schedulers, events are visually displayed on a map so it’s easily found and shared.  The map has many filters so you can choose the genre, the decade, the type of entertainment (Sports, TV or Movie), if kids are invited, if heckling is encouraged, B.Y.O.B, Theaters Only and so much more.  If they were at a Movie party and met someone who’s heckling they just loved, they can add them as a friend and the app will tell the user when this person is watching something nearby and allow for social interaction to plan a meetup.  The app is in concept phase and RockSauce Studios is interested in the development, and they have laid out specific costs related to this project for which this campaign was launched.  This includes UX which is the design of the application, from page to page – The blueprint), the User Interface (UI) or the look and feel of the Application with art design and the coding or making sure it all works and works how it should.

The campaign offers investors thank yous, RedBox movie vouchers, logo popcorn bags, their name placed on the app website and later to the app itself, youtube videos of Brandon acting out contributors favorite scenes, free movies from year they were born, being able to vote on the logo choice, first looks at the app, T-shirts and even exclusive attendance at the app kick-off meeting.

The team also understands not everyone may be able to give money to help this project, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily to help by spreading the word about Movie On Me online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
