Thompson Hine Recognized by LMG Life Sciences 2014

Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce the firm has again been recognized in LMG Life Sciences, published by the Legal Media Group in association with Euromoney Institutional Investor. The publication recommends Thompson Hine for Patent Strategy and Management, noting the firm’s particular strength in intellectual property strategy and litigation. It also recommends the firm’s Product Liability Litigation practice, noting the group is widely recognized for its strong national practice. In addition, six lawyers are listed as Life Sciences Stars, recommended consistently as reputable and effective in serving the industry.

Award recipients were selected by LMG Life Sciences based on research involving feedback from clients in the industry, nearly 1,000 interviews and surveys by partners active in the United States, and reviews of public information. According to the publication, this qualitative process of peer opinion, market feedback and independent research led to the selection of the “highest profile, most sought-after and best attorneys working in life sciences.”

The Thompson Hine partners recognized as Life Sciences Stars are:

  • Finance & Transactional – Faith Charles and Garrett D. Evers (New York).
  • Intellectual Property – John W. Ryan and Thomas Haas (Washington, D.C.). LMG references Ryan’s opinion work on monoclonal antibody technology for Janssen Biotech, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. It also notes that Haas “leverages his in-depth industry and science-specific knowledge to add value in litigation proceedings.”
  • Non-IP Litigation & Enforcement – Elizabeth B. Wright and Brian A. Troyer (Cleveland). LMG references several of Wright’s first chair trials, including on behalf of a food equipment manufacturer and a pharmaceutical company (hormone replacement therapy).

LMG Life Sciences strives to be the ultimate resource for in-house counsel identifying leading lawyers and firms in areas that play important roles in guiding a product through its life cycle.

Thompson Hine’s Life Sciences group includes lawyers from practices across the firm, providing a multidisciplinary team that serves biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies; venture capital firms; investment banks; and research institutions.
