ProteoTech Presents Update on Its New Product “Cognitive ClarityTM” at The 12th International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases in Nice, France, March 18–22, 2015

ProteoTech, Inc. announced today that Dr. Alan Snow, President and Chief Scientific Officer, made a presentation representing new ProteoTech technologies at the 12th International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases (AD/PD 2015) held in Nice, France, March 18–22, 2015. Dr. Snow gave a poster presentation on Friday, March 20, 2015, providing an update on ProteoTech’s nutraceutical program to develop a new oral supplement product that is postulated to reduce both brain “plaques and tangles” and improve memory, focus and concentration. ProteoTech’s presentation was entitled:

“Development of Cognitive ClarityTM: A Unique Dietary Supplement for Reduction of Brain ‘Plaques and Tangles,’ and Enhancement of Memory, Focus and Concentration”

Cognitive ClarityTM, exclusively developed at ProteoTech, is a specific combination of a proprietary extract (known as PTI-00703®) from the Amazon rain forest woody vine, Uncaria tomentosa, and a specific tea extract identified by screening for direct activity against “plaques and tangles.” Beta-amyloid and tau are key proteins in the aging and Alzheimer’s brain that are linked to memory loss and cognitive decline. There is currently no pharmaceutical drug that has been approved for reducing and removing both beta-amyloid protein-containing “plaques” and tau protein-containing “tangles” in the brain. Extensive studies demonstrate that Cognitive ClarityTM is a potent inhibitor of beta-amyloid protein and tau protein aggregates and fibrils. Transgenic “amyloid plaque” mouse model studies demonstrate that the main plant extract ingredients of Cognitive ClarityTM causes a marked reduction and/or clearance of brain beta-amyloid plaques, leading to improvement in memory. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial is planned for later this year to confirm the effects of Cognitive ClarityTM on improving memory, concentration and focus in subjects with age-associated memory impairment. Cognitive ClarityTM is anticipated to represent the world’s first nutraceutical oral supplement for memory enhancement by inhibition and reduction of brain “plaques and tangles.”

About ProteoTech: ProteoTech is a privately-held, therapeutic development company that utilizes its amyloid expertise to discover and develop new drugs for treating misfolded protein disorders and amyloid diseases. ProteoTech’s lead small molecule compound, Systebryl™ (PTI-110), will soon be entering a Phase 1/2 proof-of-concept clinical trial in patients with AL (immunoglobulin light chain) amyloidosis (an “orphan” disease). Other drugs in the ProteoTech pipeline include a small molecule drug inhibitor for TTR (transthyretin) amyloidosis; a small molecule drug for dialysis-related amyloidosis; SynuclereTM, a small molecule drug inhibitor of alpha-synuclein accumulation (for Multiple System Atrophy and other synucleinopathies such as Parkinson’s disease); and TauProTM and PTI-80, small molecule drugs that target tau protein aggregates involved in Alzheimer’s disease and the orphan disease Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
