Boyden Global Executive Search Elects Jörg Kasten as Chairman

Jörg Kasten, Managing Partner of Boyden Germany, was elected to a two-year term as Chairman.

Finn Rants, Managing Partner of Boyden Denmark, was elected to a first term as Director. In addition, Kristen Smit, Managing Partner of Boyden France, and Brent Shervey, Managing Partner of Boyden Canada, were re-elected to new two-year terms as Board Members.

Mr. Kasten, who joined Boyden in 2009, has over 20 years’ experience in executive search, predominately serving clients in the professional services and technology sectors. He has provided leading multinational organisations a strong focus on cross-border searches and extensive expertise in recruitment of top management for general management and partner positions.

Prior to Boyden, Kasten served as Managing Partner at two other leading global executive search firms. He began his career as an HR Manager at Lufthansa AG, and in HR roles at Mummert + Partner. Kasten studied psychology and business administration at the Universities of Düsseldorf and Cologne, and received his degree in 1987.

Finn Rants, New Board Member: Mr. Rants, who has played a leading role in expanding Boyden’s business in Denmark, has more than 20 years’ experience in executive search and is a member of Boyden’s Board Services, Consumer and Industrial Practices. He specialises in senior executive roles in finance, supply chain, sales & marketing and HR. Rants was named to the exclusive Global 200 Executive Recruiters guide by Nancy Garrison-Jenn. Prior to Boyden, he served as Chairman of Amrop.

Brent Shervey, Re-Elected Board Member: Mr. Shervey, who has more than two decades of executive search experience, focuses on talent acquisition for Board of Directors, CEO, President and other senior executive roles in energy, education, government, healthcare, and not-for-profit organisations. He has held board roles with Mount Royal College, Mount Royal College Foundation and United Way Calgary. Prior to executive search, Shervey served in various leadership roles with Shell Canada.

Kristen Smit, Re-Elected Board Member: Ms. Smit, with 15 years’ experience in executive search, is a key member of Boyden’s Industrial and Healthcare & Life Sciences Practices, leading searches across Europe. Prior to Boyden, she worked with another leading executive search firm that specialized in senior management appointments and leadership development. Smit began her career in banking, and transitioned to a leading career management consultancy firm, where she was European Director of Professional Services. She speaks fluent French, English, Dutch and basic German.
