BTL Liners Introduces Scrim Reinforced Clear Greenhouse Covers

BTL Liners based in Prineville, Oregon, has recently introduced reinforced polyethylene (RPE) clear greenhouse covers. These greenhouse covers are available in two thicknesses, 8-mil and 12-mil, with a respective lifespan of three and five years. These covers fulfill the need for high-strength, lightweight and durable greenhouse skins that also provide high light transmission. Read further details and view spec sheets for BTL-8 and BTL-12 Woven Clear Greenhouse Covers at www.btlliners.com.

These reinforced polyethylene (RPE) covers are constructed from a woven HDPE scrim with LDPE coating on both sides. They feature UV stabilizers, wide spectrum chemical resistance, and are resistant to rot. Their woven, multilayer construction transmits even, diffuse light to prevent problematic shadows and hotspots in the greenhouse environment.

“The big selling point is that these materials are reinforced with a scrim, so they’re much more durable than typical unreinforced greenhouse covers,” explains Jared Santoro, General Manager and Vice President of BTL Liners, Inc. “These covers are particularly resistant to punctures and tears, both of which are significant concerns in areas subject to high winds or damaging hail,” said Mr. Santoro.

Like other BTL products, these RPE covers are extremely strong and yet lightweight. For the same strength and durability factor as competitors’ products, these greenhouse skins are easier to install and do not require extra heavy duty structures to manage the load.

“Many of our competitors only offer their greenhouse covers in stock sizes, and we think it is important to note that BTL’s covers are custom made and available in any dimensions that our customers require—this could represent a significant cost savings,” said Mr. Santoro.

BTL fabricates recreational pond and lake liners, containment systems for oil, gas and mining operations, ranch and farm tarps, liners for storm water management, potable water storage and a number of other systems. They fabricate and ship the largest panels in the industry while maintaining high levels of customer service and quality. All of BTL’s liners are 100% North American made, which provides their customers with stable prices, consistent availability and the highest levels of quality control.
