Trujillo, Peru: Considered Peru’s “hidden wonder”, Trujillo is home to the ruins of Chimu, which was once the world’s largest adobe city. Nearby, the major archaeological site, The Moche Temples of the Sun and Moon major, dates back to 100 BC.

Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico: A favorite of history lovers, the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza, the Kukulcan Pyramid, the Temples of Uxmal, the Coba Ruins, the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and El Castillo are among the Peninsula’s most fascinating artifacts. Knowledgeable guides share Mayan history and culture.

Rome, Italy: Rome is home to some of the most recognizable ruins in the world. The Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum represent ancient Rome.  Other ancient sites include the Baths of Caracall and Lilla dei Quintili.  Lesser known but well worth the trip, is the ancient Roman port of Ostia Antica.

By train, visit the site of the Battle of Barnet which was one of the battlefields of the Wars of the Roses.
