CVS Health Takes “An Audacious Step” With 2017 Drug Formularies

Make way for some waves. CVS Health ( CVS ) and Express Scripts ( ESRX ) have released their formulary exclusion list for 2017, which details which prescription drugs will not be covered by health plans. Express Scripts says it will save customers $1.8 billion in 2017 by excluding a list of 85 drugs in 2017 . Yet CVS made the biggest change, adding 35 products to bring its list of excluded drugs to 131 in 2017 .
