Leading Edge Academy – Mountain View Celebrates School Choice with Assembly, Dance

The students, parents, and staff of Leading Edge Academy – Mountain View will come together to support school choice in an all-school assembly that ends with a choreographed dance to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”

On Friday, January 20 at 8:15 a.m. the assembly will kick off. Speakers include founder of Leading Edge Academy Schools Delmer Geesey, Instructional Coach/Response to Intervention Specialist Jacqueline Johnson, and the campus principal Steven Butcher. Students in the Dance Club have been practicing a performance for the close of the assembly.

The celebration will take place at the school, located at 4815 W Hunt Hwy, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

Leading Edge Academy – Mountain View is a public charter school that is one of several campuses in the Leading Edge Academy District, serving close to 300 students from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

The goal of the event is to celebrate great education choices in Arizona and raise awareness among parents about school choice. The celebration is timed to take place right before National School Choice Week (January 22-28, 2017), which will feature more than 21,000 events across the country.

"Leading Edge Academy - Mountain View is participating in National School Choice Week because we strongly believe that parents have the right to choose the best educational setting for their child." said Daniella Indie, 1st and 2nd grade teacher at the school.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 21,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
