Escape Room Opens First Choose Your Own Adventure Game in Minnesota

Now open, Missing Pieces Escape Games is a Minneapolis-based escape room that combines mystery, storytelling and strategy. The immersive entertainment space features real-life adventures that keep players guessing as they uncover the answers. Players must work together to discover secrets, unravel riddles and piece together puzzles within one hour.

“Our focus is creating environments that take players to places they’ve never been before, like the jungle, a desert, or a secret bunker. We want people to feel like they’re the main characters in their own movie,” says owner and Minnesota-native Matt Steinman.

Steinman and his family decided to open an escape room together after playing several in the area. Their competitive, entrepreneurial spirit made jumping into the business an easy decision. “We all bring something different to the table. We’ve got an engineer, a robotics major, a finance guru, a bunch of storytellers, and we’re all obsessed with games. Not a family gathering goes by without cracking open a new board game,” says Steinman.

Most escape games don’t allow for players to determine the course of the game or test their own conscience. As the first “choose your own adventure” escape rooms in Minnesota, Missing Pieces offers the latest technology to truly immerse players and keep them guessing at every turn.

The first room available for booking is called “Diamond Dilemma.” A wealthy widow blames her butler for stealing the famous Minnehaha Diamond, but not all is as it seems. Players start their adventure as the city’s premier reporter on the hunt to find the real story. Missing Pieces’ second room, “Ruin Raiders,” will open March 2017.

Perfect for corporate offices, friends or families, groups use logic, communication and teamwork skills. Missing Pieces Escape Games occupies a space in JGM Properties’ Pakwa Business Park. Bookings are currently available on the weekends via reservations online at missingpiecesmn.com or weekdays by phone request at 952-658-8974.
