Smartsheet Unveils Expansion in Boston

Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR), a leading cloud-based platform for work execution, unveiled a major expansion in Boston’s Leather District on Tuesday, adding capacity for up to 300 additional employees. The newly public and rapidly growing company continues to make headcount gains in the city alongside other notable west coast-based industry leaders including Amazon, Facebook, and Salesforce.

Smartsheet opened its Boston office at 179 Lincoln Street in early 2017, the company’s second location after its headquarters in Bellevue, Washington, in a 20,000 square foot space designed to accommodate 150 people. That capacity was reached in April of this year. With this in-building expansion, Smartsheet will now occupy over 62,000 square feet of office space, with capacity for up to 450 employees.

“As we anticipated, Boston has proven to be a rich source of talent, and along with the continued strength of our business, has allowed us to quickly grow our team,” said Mark Mader, CEO of Smartsheet. “We are finding outstanding candidates who are excited about joining a high-growth SaaS company where they can have an immediate and meaningful impact.”

With the expansion, Smartsheet plans to increase its Boston presence across all business functions, including adding roles in engineering, customer success, client development, professional services, sales, marketing, human resources and technical support.
