LA Femme International Film Festival (LAFIFF) is proud to announce that Jaina Lee Ortiz and Rachel Winter will be honored at this year's LAFIFF Awards Show and Gala event on October 14, 2016 (Red Carpet at 6 pm, Show at 7 pm) at the South Park Center Theatre Center in downtown Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES - Oct. 11, 2018 - PRLog -- This year we are proud to celebrate the accomplishment of RACHEL WINTER who will be receiving the Executive Achievement Award for her outstanding creation of feature films. Winter is an Academy Award®-nominated Producer, best known for the acclaimed film "Dallas Buyers Club." Based on a true story, this powerful film earned six Academy Award® nominations including best picture, winning three of them including lead actor for Matthew McConaughey and supporting actor for Jared Leto. The film also received accolades from the Producers Guild of America, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globe Awards and the Broadcast Film Critics Association's Critics Choice Awards.

Recently, Winter produced William H. Macy's directorial debut of the feature film "Krystal." The dramedy follows a young man who has never had a drink in his life who, upon meeting the woman of his dreams - an ex-hooker-stripper-junkie-alcoholic, pretends to be in AA to try and woo her.

Winter also produced the indie drama "Stealing Cars," inspired by the true events associated with a tragic car accident that sends a rebellious teen spiraling downward into the grim injustice of the juvenile penal system. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2015 and earned the festival's Zeitgeist Award. Her previous film credits include the films "Brooklyn Rules," "Wayward Son," "Bury Me in Kern County" and "The Lather Effect." On the television side, Winter has an overall first-look deal with A&E Networks to develop and produce scripted drama projects.

JAINA LEE ORTIZ will be honored this year with the Lupe Ontiveros Image Award as a woman who has broken against stereotypes in casting. Ortiz began with a humble start as a professional Salsa dancer in The Bronx, New York. This is where she set her sights on her dream of becoming an professional actor. After moving to Los Angeles she broke into television with her debut in Amazon's "The After", created by Chris Carter (X-Files).  Shortly thereafter, Ortiz starred as the female lead in Fox's "Rosewood," then went on to completed a major recurring character opposite Ryan Phillippe in the second season of the USA hit series "Shooter."

Currently Ortiz stars as ANDY HERRERA, the lead on ABC's upcoming drama series "STATION 19".  This new gripping drama is from Executive Producer, Shonda Rhimes and revolves around a group of heroic firefighters and will start its second season this Fall.

This year's show launches into awards season with the LA Femme International Film Festival Awards Show Gala taking placeon October 14, 2018 at 7pm (Red Carpet at 6pm) at the  South Park Center Theatre, 1139 S Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015 (parking : parking:150 W 12th St LA 90015 )

LA Femme is a four-day festival that screens over 100 films, special screenings, seminars, and networking mixers.
