Eastland proposal calls for $50 million in taxpayer funding, focus on MLS youth academy

City and county government, Crosland Southeast and Tepper Sports & Entertainment are part of a public-private redevelopment proposal at the former Eastland Mall site outlined Monday. City Council is expected to vote on the funding on Nov. 9; no date has been set for a decision by Mecklenburg County.
