CyLumena 2020 TECH50 Finalist for Cybersecurity CategoryDowntown cybersecurity firm recognized for impact on the Pittsburgh region.

CyLumena is honored to be announced as a Cybersecurity finalist for the 2020 TECH50 award sponsored by the Pittsburgh Technology Council.

In its 24th year, TECH50 is an awards program that recognizes the top 50 member companies of the Pittsburgh Technology Council across technology-focused industries.

“We believe that CyLumena was chosen as a Cybersecurity finalist for 2020 because of our commitment to the safety and data security of Pittsburgh organizations, our dedication to hiring from Pittsburgh-based colleges and universities, and our support of Pittsburgh non-profits, including a complimentary cloud-migration and security program for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh,” shared Chris Dinnin, Managing Director.

CyLumena’s submission application highlights several achievements that support their nomination, including:

Supporting Pittsburgh-area Non-Profits, Including Cloud Migration Project for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh:

In conjunction with SDLC Partners, CyLumena will transform the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh’s (BBBS) digital infrastructure and operations by migrating them to the Microsoft Cloud and implementing cybersecurity protection measures. This comprehensive upgrade to the BBBS operations will be provided by CyLumena and SDLC Partners at no cost to BBBS, including the first year of support.

Developing a complimentary Cybersecurity Fundamentals Course for College Students and Recent Graduates:

CyLumena recognized an opportunity to help college students and recent college grads in the face of expounding economic difficulties impacting job markets and hiring capacities. In conjunction with SDLC Partners, the teams created a skill-building program that provided complimentary educational and practical courses. These courses offered multi-faceted benefits, allowing individuals to test new areas of interest, like cybersecurity, while giving foundational skills and learning with a career-driven focus.

Delivering Needed Cybersecurity Services to Pittsburgh-area Organizations:

CyLumena uses a proprietary methodology called CyberLean, which marries Lean thinking with the most robust security models available, like HITRUST Common Security Framework, NIST, and CMMC.

CyLumena’s cybersecurity requirements gathering, assessment, and risk exposure methodology provides greater visibility into measurable cyber risk at a reduced cost over a shorter timeframe.

“Our nomination for the TECH50 Cybersecurity category highlights the impact our team is making on the data security and privacy protection for Pittsburgh-area organizations, as well as our impact through mentoring future professionals, and supporting regional non-profits. It’s a proud moment for CyLumena,” says Chris Hart, Director of Cybersecurity.

The Pittsburgh Technology Council will announce the Cybersecurity winner during a virtual TECH50 event on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
