Canada - November 25, 2020 - Biktrix Ultimate Electric Bikes from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada launched an Indiegogo Campaign to kickstart their new line of ebikes. CEO and Founder Roshan Thomas started Biktrix in 2013 because he was determined to build an electric motorcycle. However, after basic research, he discovered that an e-motorcycle would be very cost-prohibitive to build. So, he moved his intentions elsewhere and decided to build his own electric bike. After creating the first two bikes, he realized that he was getting a lot of attention with them and that there was a demand for electric fat bikes, which made sense because their big beefy tires work with the amount of snow that they get half the year. Ultimately, Roshan Thomas wanted to make fat bikes more accessible to casual commuters.
Biktrik launched their first crowdfunding campaign for the Juggernaut in 2014, and with its success, was able to propel the company from a one-man conversion kit operation to a successful online direct-to-consumer premium electric bike company. Within just a few years, Biktrix has expanded from only a garage to operating out of a centrally located headquarters in Saskatoon with more than 30 employees, including mechanics, logistics specialists, customer support agents, research and development personnel, e-commerce experts, and bike enthusiasts.
They are passionate about eBikes and want every rider to have a positive experience when using bikes. At the moment, they have a wide range of customers, from students commuting to school to baby boomers who want to stay active. All Biktrix bikes can be customized by the user, a unique feature since the bikes are assembled and shipped from Canada.
As mentioned before, they have previously launched a Kickstarter Campaign, but they are not resting on that success and have an ambitious growth plan. They plan to work with retailers to try and get demo bikes into stores.
Thomas has stated that while many big bike manufacturers have emerged in the electric bike market, he firmly believes that because Biktrix is still operating on a smaller scale, they can change designs quickly and offer its customers the latest technology and design for eBikes. The eBikes have been used in rough conditions, but because it has motors and batteries, it should not be completely submerged in water.
