Wade Kricken
The Wade Kricken Scholarship for Future Attorneys provides funding for students studying on the road to becoming attorneys. The scholarship is meant for university and college students who are enrolled in an accredited institution undertaking a law course. The scholarship is also open to students in high school who wish to further their studies and undertake a law course to become attorneys in the future. The scholarship fund will be awarded to a remarkable student based on a short essay competition. All applicants for this scholarship must write a personal essay in response to the given question. The application requires students to provide their official names, their GPA, evidence of enrolment in an accredited college or university, the name of their high school and graduation date, contact information, and email address. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the scholarship as a way of earning money for their education.
Just like any other career, becoming an attorney requires the right education. Education will not only equip you with skills and knowledge but also guide you in making the right decisions. Though many students dream to become attorneys, fewer are privileged enough to pursue those dreams. In many cases, students simply lack resources or face financial constraints through no fault of their own. Some students go the extra mile to work part-full time to earn money essential to their studies while others give up on their goals to settle for white-collar jobs.
No one understands the struggles that law students go through more than Wade Kricken. He has first-hand experience with what it is like to be a law student and how difficult it can be for students from a financial perspective. For that reason, Wade is launching his scholarship program as a way of giving back to the community. Through his scholarship, Wade hopes to raise much-needed awareness of the struggles that students manage on the road to becoming attorneys. He would also like to nurture one lucky student to become a practicing attorney. Wade further hopes that the scholarship will pave the way for more scholarship opportunities.
Apart from just being an attorney, Wade Kricken is the proud father of six children, three sons and three daughters, with whom he spends as must time as practicable when he is not practicing law or serving his clients. Wade was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, the son of a commercial airline pilot and Army brat. After high school, Wade attended Southern Methodist University on a full academic/Air Force ROTC scholarship where he initially aspired to the fields of engineering and medicine. Wade was drawn to more theoretical disciplines and decided to re-focus his career on becoming a lawyer, transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated in 1997 with a degree in Economics. After college, Wade worked at a prestigious national law firm before enrolling at Baylor Law School, where he graduated in less than three years, in November 2001.
Between 2002 and 2008, Wade worked with multiple boutique litigation firms where he continued developing the skills necessary to be an effective practitioner. In 2009, Wade established his own law practice and honed his approach to client representation which is based on the nuances of applying legal authority/precedent, considering the economic realities/financial constraints of dispute resolution, determining the collectability of judgments against his own clients and adverse parties, and communicating effectively with clients, courts, and other attorneys.
Since becoming licensed, Wade Kricken has lawyered more than one thousand (1000) cases in formal litigation and represented countless others in legal engagements. These cases have included engagements on behalf of homeowners against lenders and servicers in mortgage disputes where he developed proficiency in mortgage servicing regulations and consumer protection. Through his work in real estate matters, Wade has come to represent investors in a variety of disputes through which he has gleaned knowledge and strategies that benefit existing clients and those referred to him.
Wade is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as all Texas state courts.
