WALTHAM, Mass. and RALEIGH, N.C., July 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Peoplefluent™, offering a unique combination of best-of-breed social, mobile and cloud-based suite solutions for Talent Management, Vendor Management and Workforce Compliance and Diversity, today announced the appointment of Gerard Murphy as President and CEO of the business. Murphy, previously CEO of SunGard's Brokerage and Clearance segment, will drive Peoplefluent's corporate growth strategy and further advance the Company's product innovation in the marketplace. Having served as Chairman and CEO for the last year and a half, Charles S. Jones, will remain Chairman of Peoplefluent.
Murphy joins Peoplefluent during a time of strong momentum. During the second quarter, which ended June 30, 2012, every business unit posted double digit year-over-year growth, with new bookings growth of 42 percent and annual recurring bookings growth of 52 percent. Year-to-date bookings grew, on a consolidated basis, 21 percent over the same period last year and momentum from Q1 2012 to Q2 2012 was very strong, with 29 percent quarter over quarter growth. While the Company saw continued strength in global markets, in North America, Peoplefluent's annual recurring revenue bookings growth was 178 percent in Q2 2012 versus the same quarter a year ago. Not only did the Company see growth in new bookings, but Peoplefluent also improved retention rates by 17 percent in North America during the first half of 2012.
From 1995 to 2010, Murphy held a range of positions within SunGard, repeatedly promoted from sales executive positions into top management. Exceeding targets and expectations, he ultimately served as CEO of the Brokerage and Clearance segment of the business. While CEO of this division, one of the largest of ten business segments within SunGard, Murphy was responsible for $350 million in sales revenue and 1,200 employees worldwide. From 2007-2010, Murphy steadily increased annual sales year-over-year by 10-20 percent and increased EBITDA by nearly 129% during 2004-2010. His experience within the business includes identifying, completing and integrating acquisitions (including the largest acquisition ever executed within SunGard), managing operations and IT integration, general management and operational excellence and customer-focused business growth strategies.
"I am very pleased with the evolution of Peoplefluent in the last year and tremendously proud of the strong team that enabled it. We are grateful for the endorsement delivered by our customers, old and new, who have fueled the rapid acceleration of our business," said Mr. Jones.
