announcement is made pursuant to Rules 13.09(1) and 13.09(2) of the Rules
Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong
Limited.

Eastern Air Holding Company (中國東方航空集團公司) and
China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (the “Company”) are in the course of
planning matters in connection with the material restructuring relating to the
Company and proposals for further lowering the gearing ratio of the Company, and
will consult and discuss the relevant policies and proposals with the relevant
departments after publication of this announcement. Therefore, uncertainties
remain with the relevant matters.
To
safeguard the interests of the investors and to avoid significant impact on the
share prices of the Company, trading of the shares of the Company has been
suspended from 8 June 2009 at the request of the Company.
During
the period of the suspension of trading of shares, announcement(s) as to the
development of the matters will be issued by the Company once a
week.

Securities News (上海證券報) and China
Securities Journal (中國證券報) is the
designated press of the Company for disclosure of information and any
information published by the Company in the said press shall prevail. Investors
are advised to be cautious and take note of the risk associated with the

As announced by the Company on the
announcement dated 8 June 2009, the Company will issue an announcement of
price-sensitive in nature and the Company is in the course of preparing such
