TIME EXTENSION FOR DESPATCH OF CIRCULAR

Reference is made to the announcement of the Company dated 10 July 2009 (the “Announcement”) regarding the absorption of Shanghai Airlines by the Company. Terms used herein shall have the same meanings as defined in the Announcement unless the context otherwise requires.

Pursuant to the Listing Rules, a circular regarding the Absorption (the “Absorption Circular”) as mentioned in the Announcement is required to be despatched to the Shareholders within 21 days after publication of the Announcement, that is, on or before 31 July 2009. However, additional time is required to collate and finalise certain information, for example, the financial information of Shanghai Airlines to be prepared under the International Financial Reporting Standards, which is associated with the disclosures in the Absorption Circular.
