Singular Sound is a business that’s been through a lot over the last couple of years. Like most companies, this one was hit with supply chain issues and parts shortages, meaning prices had to be increased to combat this. However, with the worst of the pandemic seemingly in the past, it’s allowed this guitar pedal and accessories company to drop the price of many products. Specifically, the top pedal looper on their site - the Aeros Loop Studio - has just received a massive $100 price drop. It’s the most affordable the product has been in some time, meaning musicians can now purchase it for just $599.
Improvements In Manufacturing Costs & Supply Issues
The Aeros Loop Studio has been retailing for $699. Singular Sound reports that this was largely due to increases in manufacturing costs and COVID-related component shortages. It made the product harder to get ahold of, leading to the price rise across the industry.
Currently, costs are still well above the norm, but things have started to change for the better. It’s definitely not returned to the pre-pandemic era, but slight improvements in manufacturing costs and supply chain problems have eased a bit of the financial pressure.
The company is optimistic they will begin to lower even further in the coming months. Singular Sound’s CEO - David Packouz - stated that “we’re still dealing with a significant rise in production costs, but we’re hopeful about the future. We want our products to be as accessible as possible”. He further added that “money is tight for everyone right now. This price drop is one thing we can do to make it easier for musicians to keep playing”
New Features Coming To The Looper
The price drop comes on the heels of two major firmware updates for the looper, which added key new features like reversing loop playback, automated fade in/out, and a streamlined user interface.
There’s no doubt that musicians across the country will see this as excellent news. Working in the music industry has been challenging as everything costs more than it used to. Seeing a product like the Aeros Loop Studio drop by $100 is a positive sign. Hopefully, it’s the beginning of more price decreases across the industry as manufacturers and suppliers continue to recover from the pandemic.
