This quarter, the market is expecting Ball’s revenue to grow 9.1% year on year, slowing from the 12.8% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business will stay the course heading into earnings. Ball has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates multiple times over the last two years.
Looking at Ball’s peers in the industrial packaging segment, some have already reported their Q2 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Avery Dennison delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 10.9%, beating analysts’ expectations by 7.3%, and Crown Holdings reported revenues up 16.5%, topping estimates by 9.3%. Avery Dennison traded up 1.5% following the results while Crown Holdings was also up 3%.
