Weingarten Realty Announces Promotions

Weingarten Realty Investors (NYSE:WRI) announced today the promotions of William (“Bill”) Coats to Regional Vice President / New Development, Alexander (“Alex”) Evans to Area Vice President / Leasing and Scott Henson to Regional Vice President / Construction.

William E. Coats, Regional Vice President / New Development

Bill joined Weingarten in 2008 as Regional Director of Development in the Atlanta office. As part of WRI’s Growth team, Bill handled both development and acquisitions in the Company’s Mid-Atlantic region. In addition to his responsibilities in Growth, Bill is currently leading the Project Management and Development teams for the Company’s two large, mixed-use developments in Northern Virginia, West Alex and Centro Arlington. Throughout Bill’s career, he has developed and/or acquired over 30 shopping centers. Bill holds a BSIM degree in Management from The Georgia Institute of Technology and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Georgia.

Alexander C. Evans, Area Vice President / Leasing

Alex joined Weingarten in 2007 as a summer intern in the Atlanta regional office while attending the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia. In 2008, Evan joined WRI full time as a Property Manager in the Orlando office after graduating with a degree in Real Estate. In 2010, Alex took an opportunity in the Leasing department as a Leasing Representative, and was promoted to Leasing Executive in 2012, Regional Leasing Manager in 2015, and Regional Leasing Director in 2017. In his role as Area Vice President, Alex will be responsible for all asset management tasks for his portfolio of 2.8 million square feet in Central and North Florida. Alex is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds his Florida Real Estate Sales License.

Scott A. Henson, Regional Vice President / Construction

Scott began his career at Weingarten in 2014 as Regional Director of Construction for the Western Region. He was instrumental in the successful completion of all work required for retail at The Whitaker in West Seattle, including the Whole Foods and small shop retail. Scott is currently leading the construction effort for the Company’s Cambrian redevelopment project in San Jose, along with design and construction responsibilities for the Western Region and Florida. Prior to joining Weingarten, Scott was the Director of Design and Construction at Sleiman Enterprises, a Joint Venture partner of Weingarten, and prior to that, Scott worked on projects both in the U.S. and internationally. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from the University of North Florida.
