Acquires the Loneliness Institute to Drive Forward Mission and Implement Large-Scale Policy Solutions
WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / August 22, 2024 / The Future US has announced its acquisition of the Loneliness Institute to accelerate the development and implementation of solutions to the Loneliness Epidemic. Future US will apply its proprietary rapid design thinking methodology to the widespread issue, aiming to implement solutions on a national scale.
The Loneliness Institute (LI) was established with a focused mission to tackle the Loneliness Epidemic, specifically by identifying sustainable solutions capable of reaching populations exceeding one million. While most existing research has emphasized the scale and detrimental effects of loneliness, less attention has been devoted to identifying actionable solutions ("interventions" in academic research contexts), which became the primary focus of LI.
With the publication of its final report, Recommendations & Conclusions of the Loneliness Institute, LI has completed its initial mission. The Future US will now continue this vital work, advancing policy solutions to address this urgent issue. LI founder Andy Sernovitz will join The Future US's advisory board.
The outcomes of LI's work will be integrated into The Future of Mental Health (FMH) program at The Future US. Under the leadership of Andrew Frawley, the FMH program will mobilize resources, engage communities, and build networks to explore new pathways aimed at advancing the top findings from LI's work.
