Marquis Who's Who Honors Praval Panwar for Success in Software Engineering

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / April 2, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who honors Praval Panwar for success in software engineering. Mr. Panwar is the principal software engineering manager at Microsoft. As a top professional in the field, he has contributed to large-scale software engineering and data systems, exhibited technical leadership and conducted noteworthy research. His commitment to excellence has led to widespread impact across the industry for more than 15 years. He has demonstrated technical leadership in designing and operating large-scale data systems that power modern cloud infrastructure.

A Passion for Computer Science

Mr. Panwar's interest in technology began in childhood. "When I was a kid, I loved learning how computers work. Whenever I played games, I wanted to build something like them when I grew up. That was my initial motivation," Mr. Panwar says.

As a passion-filled student, Mr. Panwar consistently ranked at the top of his class in science and mathematics. This academic performance reinforced his commitment to computer science and software engineering. As a result, he earned a Bachelor of Technology in electronics and communication from the University of Rajasthan in India.

In 2015, Mr. Panwar received a Master of Science in computer science from the University of Southern California. A year before, he also completed several professional industry credentials, including AMCAT-certified data processing and Aspiring Minds-certified software development. He further completed leadership development training through the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy.

Leadership in Hyperscale Cloud Platforms

Mr. Panwar joined Microsoft in 2018 as a software engineer II and advanced through leadership roles. He served as a senior software engineer from 2021 to 2023 and a principal software engineer from 2023 to 2025. He assumed the role of principal software engineering manager in 2025.

In his current position, Mr. Panwar leads the observability metrics platform within Azure Data. His work focuses on designing and operating hyperscale systems that support Microsoft Azure customers worldwide.

One of his most notable contributions includes leading the development of a global data pipeline capable of processing petabytes of telemetry data within minutes. This work has delivered significant real-world impact, contributing to tens of millions of dollars in customer savings and over $100 million in internal cost optimization.

His work contributes to the broader evolution of observability systems that underpin modern cloud services and enterprise applications worldwide. He has also been selected to present at SREcon Americas, a leading industry conference focused on site reliability engineering, where he shares insights on capacity planning, cloud efficiency and operating systems under uncertainty.

Research, Authorship and Systems Thinking

Mr. Panwar contributes to the technology community through research publications and professional collaboration. He has written and presented research papers at international conferences focused on technology and computer science. He also wrote "Scaling Yourself: Designing a Personal Operating System for a Career and Life." The book explores applying systems engineering principles to professional development.

Mr. Panwar is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Additionally, he has received multiple internal honors at Microsoft. In 2009, the University of Rajasthan awarded him a silver medal.

Commitment to Growth and Community Impact

Mr. Panwar remains focused on continuous learning and long-term career development while mentoring others in the industry. For instance, he encourages aspiring engineers to adopt a broader technical perspective."Learn to think in systems, not in tasks, and optimize for understanding, not for immediate gains," he says.

Over the next five to 10 years, Mr. Panwar plans to deepen his expertise in generative artificial intelligence. He hopes to study how generative AI applications can improve people's lives. As someone whose career success stems from a refusal to accept "no" when faced with challenges, he is adamant about supporting community development and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
