-- Breeze to Become First Certified Autism-Inclusive US Network Carrier --
Breeze Airways, the Seriously Nice™ new U.S. low-fare airline founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, has initiated a training program for frontline Team Members on how to deliver a safe and happy travel experience to individuals with autism. The program, developed by Stamford, Connecticut-based Autism Double-Checked, will provide flight attendants with training on identifying and alleviating the stresses of air travel.
By operating out of underserved airports, Breeze already provides a more pleasant travel experience. Now Breeze will extend its caring service to the autism community.
“It has always been our top priority to provide a simple, accommodating, and reliable travel experience to each of our customers,” said David Neeleman, Founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “Combined with everything else we bring to the marketplace, this initiative will help ensure that our autistic Guests receive a stress-free and pleasant air travel experience.”
Breeze’s partner in the initiative, Autism Double-Checked (ADC) was founded by accomplished travel professionals and parents of children with special needs. As such, ADC brings a deep understanding of travel industry logistics and the difficulties faced by families of individuals on the autism spectrum when traveling.
“We are thrilled to partner with Breeze to help their team to better understand and assist guests with autism,” said Alan Day, Co-Founder and CEO, Autism Double-Checked. “April is World Autism Acceptance Month and we hope this partnership will be a catalyst to elevate the importance of autism training for the travel/hospitality industry.”
