Wego High School Partners with Fulbright Taiwan to Launch "Satellite Project," Igniting a New Wave of English Critical Thinking Education

Under this initiative, Fulbright Taiwan will select one English Teaching Fellow (ETF) and one American Debate Coach to form a specialized teaching team. They will be stationed at Wego High School. The team will participate in English co-teaching, the promotion of critical thinking curricula, and debate training activities. All Fulbright scholars undergo a rigorous selection process, including recommendations from American university professors, review by the Institute of International Education (IIE), and final selection by Fulbright Taiwan’s expert committee to ensure exceptional teaching expertise and cross-cultural communication skills.

In addition to on-campus courses, the project emphasizes the expansion and sharing of educational resources within the community. Beyond their duties at Wego High School, the American teaching fellows and debate coaches will spend fixed hours each week visiting neighboring schools to facilitate English and critical thinking programs. Through debate activities, workshops, and educational outreach, more students will have the opportunity to access an internationalized learning environment and critical thinking training.

Wego High School stated that this collaboration is not only a significant milestone in the school’s international education development but also a project rooted in educational philanthropy and community service. By introducing and redistributing international resources, the school hopes to provide more students with exposure to English critical thinking and a global perspective, enhancing the diversity and depth of the overall educational environment. Moving forward, Wego High School will continue to deepen international cooperation and educational innovation, building a global learning platform to cultivate the next generation of competitive talents with a strong sense of social responsibility.
