Scott Orrantia, newly appointed Chief Development Officer at Hunt Military Communities, brings 35 years of real estate development and Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) expertise to the role.

Orrantia brings 35 years of real estate development experience to the role, with deep expertise in the Military Housing Privatization Initiative dating back to its earliest days. His career spans every facet of the industry, working as a developer, owner, operator, and government partner, with a track record of large-scale P3 delivery across the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. He brings extensive capital markets fluency across sovereign wealth funds, bond structures, institutional equity, and project finance.

Orrantia’s mandate spans the full development cycle: building early pipeline intelligence through proactive relationships with the Department of Defense, installation commanders, and government stakeholders; structuring competitive capital for complex P3 transactions; and developing the team and culture to sustain long-term growth. His focus is on new pursuits and market opportunities, distinct from the development and sustainment work ongoing across HMC’s existing portfolio.

HMC’s growth ambitions remain anchored in its founding mission. The opportunity to expand is earned through an unwavering commitment to the residents it serves and the ability to execute with excellence across its portfolio.

“Scott brings the experience, relationships, and capital markets fluency that this moment calls for. We built this role around the opportunity in front of HMC, and Scott is exactly the right person to lead it. We recognize that any opportunity for growth is built on serving military members and their families with excellence.
