VCare automates the documentation that follows an incident in long-term care and shows where and when incidents have occurred

Voxela, Inc., whose vision AI drafts the reports that follow an incident in long-term care facilities, has closed a Series A round led by Tokyo-based Delight Ventures. Total funding since the company's founding now stands at about $13.2 million.

Sompo Growth Partners, the venture arm of Japan's Sompo Group, joined as a new investor alongside Happiness Capital in Hong Kong and Blue Heron Ventures in California. Existing investors also participated. Round size and valuation were not disclosed.

A sensor can say something happened. It cannot say what. Falls in care settings often go unwitnessed, and the report holds the moment of discovery and little else. Nearly all of Voxela's deployments are in Japan, where documentation, reporting and administrative work account for roughly half of a caregiver's working hours, based on the company's interviews with facility staff.

Voxela's platform, VCare, analyzes video from standard network cameras to automate what comes after. The AI reads the footage within about 30 seconds of an incident, and a draft report is ready minutes later. Staff review it and add what is missing. VCare then tallies those records and shows where and when incidents have occurred.

Facilities using VCare say an incident report that once took about an hour now takes minutes. At one rehabilitation hospital, camera check-in replaced part of the physical night round, and over five measured nights night-shift staff spent an average of 44 minutes less walking room to room. These figures come from measurements and staff interviews at individual facilities; they are not a guarantee of results, and outcomes vary by facility.

In the U.S., VCare is in use at a residential care home in Folsom, Calif. Voxela completed a HIPAA compliance assessment in March 2026.

"A sensor goes off, and a caregiver is at the bedside in seconds," said Yuta Endo, co-founder and CEO of Voxela. "Technology solved that. It hasn't touched the rest of the night. The problem is the system, not the way anyone works. We'll use this capital to take the rest off caregivers' hands and give the hours back to residents."

Voxela will use the capital to hire AI and product engineers, extend the AI that automates documentation and reporting, expand deployments in Japan and stand up its U.S. commercial business.
