Olympia Sports’ Intellectual Property Sold at Auction to Albert Fouerti

The intellectual property and related assets of Olympia Sports, a leading company in the Apparel, Footwear, SGB, Sports/Fitness industry, have been sold for $180,000 at an auction conducted by Hilco. The sale included the trademarks for Olympia Sports, Clever Training, and Surf Outfitter, among other assets.

Olympia Sports had filed for bankruptcy in September of last year, in order to liquidate its remaining 35 stores. The assets sold at auction included customer data for 640,000 customers, which included email addresses, mailing addresses, and/or SMS numbers, an owned image library, and marketplace accounts, as detailed in a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Domain names acquired in the sale included OlympiaSports.net, CleverTraining.com, SurfOutfitter.com, BrooklynHalf.com, RunColorado.com, and ClothesBuy.com.

Albert Fouerti, a successful entrepreneur from Brooklyn with a background in the appliance business, represented the buyer at the auction. He is the CEO of Appliances Connection / Polished, which is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY.

Other bidders who participated in the auction included Scheels Sports, as reported in court documents
