Start of the FFSA Camions season in a big style: Buggyra Academy France dominates Le Castellet

Buggyra Academy France kicked off the new season of the French Truck Racing Championship in style. Téo Calvet claimed victory in both main races at Le Castellet, with Raphaël Sousa adding a win in the final race of Sunday.

-- In the overall standings, Téo leads, Raphaël is second, and José Sousa underlined the Academy's strong performance by finishing fourth.

"It was a rollercoaster weekend—full of emotions and plenty of action on the track. There were some setbacks, but that’s part of racing. As a bonus, Buggyra Academy France locked out the podium in the final race. Téo leaves Le Castellet as the overall winner. Compared to last year, this is a huge improvement," said Fabien Calvet, boss of Buggyra Academy France.

Téo Calvet started the season’s opening race from pole position and successfully defended his lead, finishing 8.4 seconds ahead of Raphaël Sousa. "First race, first win. I'm really happy. There was a big fight behind me at the start, but the race settled down. I just focused on maintaining a consistent pace, and it worked," said the winner of the opening round.

The afternoon race, which featured a reversed starting grid, was won by Thomas Robineau in a MAN truck. José Sousa took second place, finishing 7.9 seconds behind. Raphaël came in fourth, while Téo was forced to retire due to technical issues. "I started from eighth, but unfortunately I couldn't finish because of a steering problem," lamented Téo Calvet.

He bounced back in the next race, held on Sunday. Once again, he started from pole and brought it home in first place. "It was a really good race. I started from the front and stayed there. We had a red flag, but I managed to keep my rhythm," said the Frenchman after securing his second win of the weekend.

As the saying goes, the best was saved for last. The final race of the weekend, with another reversed grid, turned into a Buggyra Academy France showcase. The team’s drivers completely dominated the podium: Raphaël Sousa took the win ahead of his father José, while Téo Calvet completed the sweep in third place.

"The fourth race was amazing—really incredible. It was a fight all the way through. Raphaël finished first, José second, and I came in third. It's just fantastic for the Academy. I'm so proud of the whole team," Téo added.

The French Truck Racing Championship continues on 21–22 June at the Nogaro circuit, the home track of Buggyra Academy France.
