Marking its first-ever participation at one of Asia’s biggest travel industry gatherings, the Telangana pavilion quickly emerged as a crowd-puller. Visitors were treated to an immersive journey through the state’s diverse offerings—from centuries-old Buddhist sites and architectural marvels to exquisite handicrafts and culinary delights.
Spotlight on the Buddhist Circuit
The centerpiece of Telangana’s presentation was its Buddhist circuit, highlighting historically significant sites such as Bavapur-Kurru, Kotalingala, Dhulikatta, Kondapur, Phanigiri, Nelakondapalli, and Nagarjuna Konda. Special attention was drawn to Buddhavanam at Nagarjuna Sagar, envisioned as a world-class spiritual tourism hub. The promotion struck a chord with Japanese visitors, many of whom share a deep cultural and spiritual connection with Buddhism.

World Heritage Icon: The display of the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple was a major attraction at the Telangana stall. Visitors showed keen interest, with many enquiring about the temple’s unique significance and its remarkable architectural features, including the famed floating bricks.
Craftsmanship: Authentic handicrafts—Cheriyal scroll paintings, Nirmal toys, and Ikkat weaves—offered glimpses into Telangana’s centuries-old artisanal traditions.
Flavors of Telangana: Food lovers savored local delicacies such as Sarva Pindi and Sakinalu, which added a sensory dimension to the cultural experience.1
