Casinos.com voters have named Casino de Montréal the most romantic casino in Canada, with the Loto-Québec property taking 42% of the national vote. Grey Eagle Resort Casino in Calgary came second with 25%, while Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto picked up 8%.
Situated on Île Notre-Dame – the man-made island built for Expo 67 – Casino de Montréal’s setting alone puts it in a different league.
The casino occupies the former France and Quebec Pavilions from the 1967 World’s Fair, with the striking eight-storey French Pavilion as its centrepiece. The approach across the water, the city skyline glittering behind you – it’s the kind of scene that makes you want to order a martini and pretend you’re in a Bond film.
More Than Just a Pretty Location
Beyond the setting, Casino de Montréal offers the kind of dining that justifies a visit even if you never touch a chip.
